Dear parents / guardians, Please fine below the work that has been set for each 4th class student. There are small differences between the 2 classes so please ensure you check the correct class. This work should last them until we return to school on March 30th. Should the closure be extended, we will be in touch with more topics and ideas for activities at home. Please check Aladdin/website regularly for further updates from Powerstown ETNS. Should you have any questions, we are available on our emails during (what would have been) normal school days/hours. Kind Regards Eoin, Sarah & Cliodhna eoin@powerstownet.com sarah@powerstownet.com cliodhna@powerstownet.com 4th Class Team
Today Laurel Class had the opportunity to go to a creative writing workshop called Fighting Words. We had been given great reviews by the Beech Class and the whole class was very excited to see what it was like. We designed our own original characters and planned our story as a class while an illustrator created pictures of the story. We even visited an editor who published a copy of the book for each of the lovely authors in Laurel Class with room for them to write their own endings! We can’t wait to finish off our stories and share them with our families.
Following all our hard work researching Kilkenny last month, Laurel Class set to work on creating our own versions of Kilkenny Castle with some creativity thrown in as well! We worked in pairs to plan and construct our castles last week and spent today painting them. We paid close attention to mixing different tones and shades to add more creative detail to our castles. (Special thank you to Nicola and Yasmiin for offering to clean all the paint palettes and brushes!)
